EcoVadis Silver Medal awarded: 73 out of 100 points

Responsible business practices have been part of our identity for many years. As a family-owned company, we take a long-term perspective and assume responsibility for our employees, our customers, our partners, and the environment. We are therefore particularly pleased that FKuR Kunststoff GmbH (short: FKuR) has once again been recognised in the latest EcoVadis rating and has further improved its result. With 73 out of 100 points, FKuR ranks among the top 8% of companies assessed by EcoVadis in the “Manufacture of plastic products” industry. For us, this achievement represents far more than an award. It confirms that we are on the right path: consistently embedding responsibility throughout our company and continuously improving our processes.

Responsibility is part of our company history

As a family-owned company, we take a long-term perspective. Since our foundation, FKuR has been addressing the question of how plastics can be used more responsibly and further developed for future applications. As a specialist in bio-based, biodegradable, and recycled plastics, we work on creating new opportunities for a more responsible use of plastics. For us, this is not about following short-term trends, but about developing practical solutions that deliver technical performance while opening up new possibilities. For us, responsibility means combining economic success with a conscious approach towards people, resources, and the environment. This understanding shapes our daily actions – from the development of our plastics and our collaboration with customers and suppliers to our internal company processes. The renewed EcoVadis award confirms that this approach is also recognised by an independent external organisation.

What is EcoVadis?

EcoVadis is one of the world’s leading providers of sustainability ratings. Companies are assessed according to internationally recognised standards in the areas of environment, labour and human rights, ethics, and responsible procurement. The rating provides companies with a transparent and independent basis for evaluating the performance of their business partners. It also supports them in meeting requirements related to environmental, social, and responsible corporate governance aspects (ESG: Environmental, Social & Governance) throughout the supply chain.

A reliable partner for our customers

Companies today face the challenge of making their supply chains more transparent and responsible. Independent assessments such as EcoVadis help organisations evaluate business partners objectively and demonstrate performance in the areas of environment, social responsibility, and responsible corporate governance. Our current EcoVadis result provides an additional basis of trust for cooperation with our customers and supports them in meeting increasing requirements in supplier management.

Continuous improvement

The renewed recognition demonstrates that our commitment is making a difference. Improving our score to 73 points is the result of many small and significant measures that we have implemented over the past years. We therefore do not see this recognition as an endpoint, but rather as confirmation that we are on the right path and as motivation to consistently continue our journey.

Through the development and use of suitable plastic compounds, we aim to contribute to a more efficient use of resources and create new approaches for a more responsible use of plastics. Together with our customers and partners, we work on developing compounds that meet technical requirements while supporting the principles of a functioning circular economy.
