German Sustainability Award 2024 – FKuR is among the finalists

For us, circular economy is not the latest trend, but our way of life!

As a pioneer for transformation in the direction of sustainability

As a finalist of the German Sustainability Award 2023 in the category plastics and rubber industry, we belong to the circle of pioneers for transformation in the German economy! This is not surprising, because for us circular economy is not the latest trend, but our way of life!

Already start thinking about tomorrow today!

We at FKuR think ahead and are already working today on plastics solutions for tomorrow: we aim to keep carbon in the cycle for as long as possible with our granulates. For this purpose, we develop, produce and supply the raw materials in the form of bio-based and/or compostable plastics, as well as high-quality recyclates to the plastics processing industry and advise our customers with our 360 ° service regarding a sustainable design of their products.

For us, it is clear that a true transformation towards more sustainable plastic products requires that all elements of a responsible circular economy be considered. Above all, this means switching to material alternatives made from recycled plastic waste or bio-based sources.

Plastics and sustainability

Food packaging made from renewable raw materials

At first glance, that sounds like a contradiction, doesn’t it? But plastics are unique, great materials. With their unique combination of light weight, diversity, property profiles, durability and cost-efficiency, plastics have been playing a key role in improving living conditions, creating more sustainable products and preventing waste for decades. That’s why plastics will continue to be indispensable to us in the future. For many applications, they are simply the perfect materials.

Reduce I Reuse I Recycle

f the life cycle of plastic products is modeled on the closed cycle of nature, we sustainably conserve finite resources and recover valuable materials from waste!

Especially because of their omnipresence, products and applications made of plastic must be designed in such a way that they are used as long as possible and are fully returned to the loop after use. Either by breaking them down into their source materials and reusing them, or by properly recycling and reusing them. Under no circumstances should they end up in the waste incinerator or worse: in the sea.
We are convinced that nature is the best recycler. That’s why we take it as a guide when developing our products. If the life cycle of plastic products is modeled on nature’s closed loop, we sustainably protect finite resources and obtain valuable materials from waste!

Reduction of fossil CO2 & keep carbon in the loop

Recycling turns plastic waste into the raw material of the future. Plastics only become an environmental problem if they are used improperly.

Recycling turns plastic waste into the raw material of the future. Plastics only become an environmental problem if they are used improperly. For the plastics industry, this means in particular that all available raw materials should be used, leading to a sustainable recycling economy and above all to a reduction in fossil CO2. In this context, the potential offered by mechanical, chemical and organic recycling, as well as renewable raw materials, must be considered in a solution-oriented and equal manner.

With “Plastics care for Future” towards a worthwhile future

We are incredibly excited that we have made it to the finalists for the German Sustainability Award. It strengthens our conviction that a CO2-neutral economy is not achievable without products made from renewable raw materials. We are proud to offer all available sustainable plastic solutions with our comprehensive and globally unique portfolio and thus make a decisive contribution to a more sustainable future.

Dr. Edmund Dolfen, founder and visionary and forerunner of FKuR

„FKuR’s central philosophy is a new way of thinking about the future plastics age, as problem-ridden and successful at the same time as it currently presents itself. The search for sustainable solutions has become an important part of our DNA. We are grateful and proud that we have been able to make an important contribution to the sustainability of the plastics industry over the past 20 years. ”, says Dr. Edmund Dolfen, founder and visionary and forerunner of FKuR.

Let's work together to create a better, more sustainable and valuable future for ourselves and our children by conserving resources, minimizing environmental impact and thus creating the transformation towards a competitive, innovative economy.

For all “Plastics care for Future” fans, keep your fingers crossed until the jury decides on this year’s winners at the end of October 2023.

German Sustainability Award 2023

The German Sustainability Award is entering its 16th round this year. In cooperation with the DIHK, the German Federal Ministry for the Environment and other partners, the DNP will again honor companies this year. With eight competitions, over 1,200 applicants, the German Sustainability Award is the largest prize of its kind in Europe.
