Bioplastics in industry

Areas of application for bioplastics in the
Circular Economy

Biopolymers are conquering more and more areas of application and achieving significantly higher growth rates than conventional plastics.  Analysts expect bioplastics sales to grow to around $9.7 billion by 2031 (see Ceresana 2022). By definition, the term “bioplastic” covers a whole family of different plastics that are distinguished in terms of their raw material base and properties. Bioplastics can be bio-based, biodegradable or both. In his lecture on November 30, 2022 at the TU Dresden, Niklas Voss, sales manager of FKuR Kunststoff GmbH, will give an overview of bioplastics already in industrial use and their recycling and disposal.
