Bioplastics or recyclate? At FKuR you are not faced with a choice!
The circular economy is a promising concept that aims to minimize waste and use resources efficiently. In reality, however, both the circular economy and recycling have their limits. Products are often not designed for easy and efficient recycling or require complex processes that are not cost-effective. Other factors such as coloring, labels and material mixtures impair the quality of recycled materials. In addition, the quality of secondary raw materials decreases with each recycling cycle – so an infinite recycling loop remains a pipe dream for the time being. These challenges underline the fact that a comprehensive solution must go beyond recycling and the circular economy.

Limits of the circular economy and recycling
At the ICIS World Polyolefins Conference on April 9, 2025 at 2:50 p.m., Patrick Zimmermann will talk about the ways and means we can take on the path to CO2 neutrality and which concepts are a dead end. Join us in Collogne and discove ther possibilities!
