High-quality materials as a base – Terralene® in action
The helmet shells from VOSS-HELME are made from the bio-based bioplastic Terralene®. Terralene® is a customized family of compounds based on the bio-based plastic polyethylene (Bio-PE). By using Terralene®, VOSS-HELME significantly reduces the use of conventional fossil plastics and actively supports the conservation of fossil resources. At the same time, the use of bio-plastics like Terralene® does not involve compromises: Its mechanical and physical properties are comparable to those of fossil plastics such as PE or PP. The material is durable, robust, and can be processed on existing production facilities without adjustments.
Innovations through sustainable materials
The use of Terralene® impressively demonstrates how resource conservation and innovation can go hand in hand. The helmet shells made from this bio-based, non-biodegradable plastic not only offer excellent weather resistance and protection but also a long lifespan.
Durability and recyclability
Thanks to the durability of Terralene®, helmets with a long service life can be manufactured. This durability makes the helmets attractive. At the end of their service life, helmets made from this material can be fully integrated into existing polyethylene material streams and recycled. They are therefore recyclable and actively contribute to promoting a circular economy.
